Job Functions and Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for marketing requirements at Raytheon JPS Communications to support product sales and marketing initiatives in the Public Safety and Security and adjacent markets. This is an internship position and is part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer.
The Marketing Intern responsibilities include creation of data sheets, managing and editing JPS’ monthly ACU Newsletter, creation and editing of presentation charts, management of the customer CD, and trade show support. The Marketing Intern maintains marketing program files, and assists with gathering data for marketing reports and supporting a variety of marketing and advertising programs.
The Marketing Intern drafts and edits copy, provides reports of growth and other activity, engages with internal teams to brainstorm ideas for new and innovative marketing campaigns, researches industry sites (blogs, forums, etc) for product reviews, customer comments, and other relevant marketing information.
This opportunity will provide excellent exposure for the student to a variety of aspects of working in a technical organization, interacting and interfacing with different organizations that are central to the success of a business. This position is out of our Raleigh, NC office. The position hours will be flexible with the applicant’s school schedule.
This position can be a level N85 or N95 depending upon student’s junior or senior standing.
Required skills:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or other marketing-related discipline
- Experience with MS Office- Power Point, Excel, and Quark
- Knowledge and experience with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media platforms for research
Desired skills:
- Ability to work part time during the school year and full time during the summer
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous internships
- Business development / market research experience
- Interest in gaining broad experience and exposure to program office, finance, contracts, engineering and supply chain activities
- Ability to commit to minimum 20 hours per week part-time during the school year and a minimum of 3 months full working schedule during the summer
Required Education:
Bachelor’s in marketing or other relevant discipline with marketing as focus candidate at junior or senior level, with minimum of 3.0 gpa
