John Deere Adds Two Models to Commercial Walk-Behind Line-Up
New models feature 61-inch deck and hydraulic drive with two control options

CARY, North Carolina (October 24, 2013) – John Deere introduces two commercial 61-inch hydraulic walk-behind mowers. Available with either pistol grip or twin loop controls, the walk-behind mowers are designed for landscape contractors who need larger width units to efficiently maintain their contracted properties.
“John Deere now offers 11 machines in the walk-behind line-up, with deck sizes ranging from 32-inches to 61-inches and a choice of twin loop or pistol grip controls,” said Chris Russell, John Deere product manager. “Today’s landscape contractor enjoys many options and now we’re confident there’s a John Deere walk-behind to meet their needs.”
The new additions are the WHP61A and WH61A. Available with 23.5-hp* engines, the models offer a 5.8-gallon fuel tank, standard electric start and standard electric PTO.
The WHP61A features pistol grip controls that allow for easy adjustable tracking, and a 7-gauge fabricated floating steel deck that delivers a high-quality cut in diverse conditions. The WHP61A joins the current WHP36A, WHP48A, and WHP52A models in the WHP Series.
The WH61A features twin loop controls, a heavy-duty hydraulic drive transmission, and a 7-gauge fabricated floating steel deck. The WH61A joins the current WH36A, WH48A, and WH52A in the WH Series.
John Deere also offers the WG Series with pistol grip controls and a five-speed gear-drive transmission for shifting on the go, with 32-inch, 36-inch, or 48-inch decks.
Like the rest of the John Deere lineup, the new WHP61A and WH61A are eligible purchases within the GreenFleet™ Loyalty Rewards program. The industry-exclusive loyalty program from John Deere is designed to help customers manage their equipment more easily and cost-effectively.
