Johnson Controls Receives Export Achievement Certificate from U.S. Department of Commerce
Company has supplied more than 1,250 large tonnage chillers and two million tons of cooling to the Middle East

Doha, Qatar – (December 17, 2010) – Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI), a global leader in delivering products, services and solutions that increase energy efficiency in buildings, has been presented with an Export Achievement Certificate. The Export Achievement Certificate was created by the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce to recognize U.S. companies that successfully penetrate international markets for distribution of their products.
The Honorable Joseph Evan LeBaron, U.S. ambassador to Qatar, presented the award to Dr. Anwar Hassan, vice president and general manager for Large Tonnage Solutions at Johnson Controls, during the International District Energy Association’s (IDEA) 5th International District Cooling Conference & Trade Show on Nov. 8 in Doha, Qatar. Since entering the Middle East market, Johnson Controls has supplied more than 1,250 large tonnage chillers and two million tons of cooling to the area.

The award presentation coincided with the inauguration of the world’s largest district cooling facility which features 52 YORK® centrifugal chillers from Johnson Controls.
