New Drury Plaza Hotel Opens in North San Antonio

(ST. LOUIS, MO) – November 23, 2010 – The new Drury Plaza Hotel–San Antonio North is open for business. The hotel continues the Drury family’s commitment to the city of San Antonio and features several energy efficient measures throughout.

Guests at the 194-room hotel experience a unique combination of style and value. The new Drury Plaza Hotel matches upscale, contemporary furnishings with Drury’s many free extras. All Drury Plaza Hotel guests receive free hot breakfast, free wireless Internet, free long-distance calls and Drury’s 5:30 Kickback®. The 5:30 Kickback serves free hot food & cold beverages to all hotel guests from 5:30 – 7 pm.

In an effort to conserve energy, many environmentally friendly measures are featured in the hotel. The hotel’s Photovoltaic electrical system saves approximately 50,000 kW a year. To help irrigate the grounds, condensation is collected from the air conditioners and ice machines. A Building Automation System has been installed that automatically controls the mechanical equipment. Other environmentally friendly features include occupancy sensors, low-wattage light bulbs, dual-flush commodes and an Energy Recovery Wheel that provides fresh air into the building at all times.
