Allstate® Fan Fest Returns to New Orleans for the 2015 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Allstate® Sugar Bowl®
Multi-platinum rock band Train to headline free concert performance leading up to the first-ever College Football Playoff Semifinal on Jan. 1
12/18/2014 – NORTHBROOK, Ill. – History is being made this college football season as fans gather in New Orleans to watch Alabama take on Ohio State in the highly anticipated 2015 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the 81st Allstate® Sugar Bowl®. In celebration of the momentous occasion, the Allstate® Fan Fest returns to the Crescent City for the ninth consecutive year offering college football fans and local residents a mix of interactive activities and musical performances leading up to the game.
In the heart of the French Quarter, free concerts by music sensations will pump fans up before they take in one of the premier events in college football. Adding to the excitement, supporters of both Allstate® and Sugar Bowl® teams can show off their school spirit during high energy pep rallies featuring marching bands, mascots and cheerleaders for the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Ohio State Buckeyes the day before the game.
Three-time Grammy Award-winning rock sensation Train will headline the festivities and help ring in the New Year on Dec. 31, while Billboard-topping indie pop band Fitz and the Tantrums will take the main stage on Dec. 30.
The Allstate® Fan Fest will also feature football-themed activities, including an opportunity to kick a field goal into the iconic Allstate “Good Hands®” Field Goal Net. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the program, which provides general scholarship donations to its more than 80 partner schools. College football fans will be encouraged to get in on the action throughout the week by tweeting using #AllstateFanFest.
College football fans who visit the Allstate® Fan Fest will also have the opportunity to register for a chance to win an Allstate® Sugar Bowl® fan pack, which includes an autographed helmet from their respective Allstate® Sugar Bowl® team. In addition, the Allstate Combine will give aspiring athletes an opportunity to participate in football-related activities and drills leading up to the big game.
The Allstate Foundation Purple Purse will make its first appearance at Fan Fest this year to help raise awareness of domestic violence and financial abuse. Attendees are encouraged to lend their support to survivors of domestic violence by making a donation to the National Network to End Domestic Violence at the giant purple purse within the Fest. The Allstate Foundation will match all donations made at the Fest up to $50,000
In addition to celebrating the action that takes place on the field, a spotlight will be placed on the good deeds that happen off the field when members of the 2014 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, one of the most prestigious off-the-field honors in college sports, are recognized during a special introduction on the Allstate® Fan Fest main stage and at halftime of the 2015 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Allstate® Sugar Bowl®.
