October 22, 2014 – WASHINGTON, D.C. – Just in time for holiday entertaining, guests can spend a night out in D.C., filled with seasonal cooking tips and gastronomic inspiration led by the culinary team at Capital Hilton on Saturday, November 22, 2014. The “Culinary Night in D.C.” package is for enthusiasts to relish in a special overnight experience in downtown Washington, D.C. The evening begins with a two-hour, hands-on dining experience with Executive Chef Miguel Santiago and Executive Sous Chef Philip Thompson, who will prepare and share five seasonal plates paired with artisanal cocktails, along with cooking tips for holiday gatherings. Then, the evening is free for guests to enjoy dining and nightlife in the recently named “coolest city” in America by Forbes magazine. The next morning, “culinary night out” guests receive complimentary late check-out to enjoy a stroll along the National Mall, a visit to a museum exhibit, or last minute shopping at a neighboring boutique in Georgetown. To remember the savory experience, guests will receive an assortment of Chef’s best seasonal recipes and a special spice blend to accent holiday dishes at home.

Capital Hilton’s Executive Chef Miguel Santiago has come to the nation’s capital with two decades of culinary experience – where he refined his passion for cooking with flavor and spices at resorts throughout Florida and Puerto Rico.
Chef Miguel was born in Puerto Rico, where his interest started at an early age in a familyowned restaurant on the east coast of the island. After graduating from high school, Miguel attended culinary school and balanced his first culinary position at The Sands Hotel in San Juan. Miguel’s experience includes the Loew’s Hotel in Miami Beach, the Acqualina Resort a Rosewood Hotel, the landmark Hyatt Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale, and most recently, the El Conquistador Resort and Las Casitas Village in Puerto Rico, which is part of the Waldorf-Astoria Collection. He was a part of the opening teams in Orlando for the Waldorf Astoria and the Hilton Convention Center. He has also participated in the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, March of Dimes and Cattleman’s BBQ completion.
