NEW RETAIL DESIGN STORE OPENS IN BRUSSELS
TESLA FURTHER EXPANDS ITS EUROPEAN NETWORK
JULY 18, 2013 – BRUSSELS, BELGIUM – Tesla Motors (NASDAQ: TSLA) will open its first retail design store in Belgium, at the vibrant and exclusive shopping street Avenue de la Toison d’Or, in Brussels.
The Brussels showroom in the heart of the city is truly state of the art and introduces Tesla fans to interactive touchscreen experiences; design a car in the design studio or learn how easy it is to GO Electric! The new Brussels showroom is opening just in time for the arrival of the acclaimed Model S in Europe this summer.
Tesla is expanding its distribution network of retail design stores rapidly in Europe, adding London and Amsterdam to the list later this year. Brussels is not only the capital of Belgium, but also considered the political capital of Europe. With a strong existing population of Tesla Roadster owners and Model S reservation holders, the Belgians have already shown significant appetite for Model S. This, in addition to a strong corporate leasing market, a segment where Model S competes strongly and is in high demand, makes Belgium a very attractive market for Tesla. The company is confident that the opening of this new store location will further build on its European sales success.
To continue preparation for European deliveries of Model S this summer, Tesla will also focus on opening more service centers to ensure outstanding customer support. In addition to opening the Brussels service centre in August, Tesla will open further locations in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Geneva, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart and Vienna by the end of the year.

About Model S
Model S is the world’s first premium sedan built from the ground up as an electric vehicle, meticulously designed and engineered to elevate the public’s expectations of what a car can be. At the heart of Model S is the proven Tesla powertrain, delivering both unprecedented range and a thrilling drive experience. With a rigid body structure, nearly 50/50 weight distribution and a remarkably low center of gravity, Model S offers the responsiveness and agility expected from world’s best sports cars while providing the ride quality of a premium sedan.
Setting the bar for electric driving range, Model S offers 60 kWh and 85 kWh battery options, delivering unprecedented range of up to 500 km (on the NEDC drive cycle) with the 85 kWh variant. Both batteries are contained within the same enclosure, integrating with the vehicle in the same way, providing structural, aerodynamic, and handling advantages. The batteries use automotive-grade lithium-ion cells arranged for optimum energy density, thermal management, and safety.
Without an internal combustion engine or transmission tunnel, the interior of Model S has more cargo space than any other sedan in its class and includes a second trunk under the hood. The interior features a 17” in-dash touchscreen with Internet capabilities.
