TaylorMade Golf Company Launches “Burner Brotherhood of Speed” Campaign
"No Speed Too Extreme" Rule Fuels Golf and Life Movement for Burner Driver Series
CARLSBAD, CALIF. (March 7, 2011) — Continuing to prove that "no speed is too extreme" when it comes to golf equipment, Taylor Made Golf Company, Inc. is breaking the speed barrier with its "Burner Brotherhood of Speed" campaign. The campaign sets the rules for TaylorMade's new white Burner® SuperFast 2.0 driver and unites golfers to push the physical limits of speed on and off the course.
The Burner Brotherhood, championed by Burner brand ambassador and PGA Tour star Camilo Villegas, is comprised of a unique series of television, digital and print ads, as well as online features inviting golfers to take part in the movement. Golfers can register online to join the Brotherhood at www.taylormadegolf.com, where they'll become part of an interactive community qualified to receive video swing tips from Villegas, product insights and additional benefits not available to non-members.
"The Burner Brotherhood encompasses the mentality by which Camilo lives and plays, as well as what the Burner brand stands for," said Bob Maggiore, TaylorMade vice president, brand and product marketing. "By giving golfers the chance to participate in this Burner movement, we're uniting like-minded players who love speed and distance and constantly seek more of it. That's what our Burner line of equipment is all about."
TaylorMade's Burner Brotherhood draws inspiration from, and is anchored, by one rule that brings to life the fast-paced and high-velocity nature of the iconic Burner brand: "No Speed Too Extreme."
With extreme close-ups, fast cutaways and raw visceral imagery featuring grainy black-and-white Villegas footage and sharp sound effects, the Burner Brotherhood campaign reflects the Burner SuperFast 2.0's light weight – at 279 grams, the lightest TaylorMade driver ever– and improved aerodynamics that together promote increased swing speed and distance. The Burner SuperFast 2.0 driver is at the core of the popular Burner series of clubs, which also includes the white SuperFast 2.0 fairway woods and Rescue hybrids and Burner 2.0 irons.
TaylorMade's Burner series of drivers is the best-selling driver franchise in TaylorMade's history. The new white Burner SuperFast 2.0 features a white non-glare crown and contrasting black clubface for optimal alignment and improved SuperFast Technology to promote up to five additional yards compared to the Burner SuperFast driver. Proven on Tour, the Burner SuperFast 2.0 has been already put into play 120 times by Tour professionals worldwide in 2011.
