Trane Establishes New Operations in Central and Southern Illinois
Now hiring additional energy management, HVAC and building experts to optimize performance of commercial buildings in the Springfield, Peoria and Champaign-Urbana markets
Chicago, Illinois, April 28, 2017 – Trane®, a leading global provider of indoor comfort solutions and services and a brand of Ingersoll Rand (NYSE:IR), is establishing new operations in Central and Southern Illinois to serve the Springfield, Peoria and Champaign-Urbana markets effective May 1, 2017. Trane specializes in optimizing commercial indoor environments with a broad portfolio of energy efficient heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, energy management and contracting services, aftermarket parts support and connected building solutions.
With these new operations, Trane is expanding its existing workforce, and plans to hire local engineers, energy services specialists and technicians throughout the remainder of 2017. Trane employees will partner with local engineers, contractors, commercial building owners and facility directors to provide energy management and HVAC systems, services and aftermarket parts solutions.
“Trane is excited and ready to serve customers throughout the state of Illinois,” said Marke Roberts, vice president and general manager for Trane. “Our team works with customers during every stage of the design process to help ensure their buildings will perform at peak efficiency. We understand the unique needs of the market, and this investment underscores our commitment to improving the energy efficiency of buildings in these communities and across the state of Illinois. We look forward to working with building owners and facility managers in the region to deliver the people, partnership and technology needed to achieve their energy goals and in turn, maximize the performance of their buildings.”
Trane has been operating in Illinois, Indiana and Missouri, including the Chicago and St. Louis metropolitan areas for decades. Ingersoll Rand employs nearly 200 employees in the state of Illinois – with the majority of employees working in Trane – and has spent more than $900 million with suppliers in Illinois over the last three years.
“In addition to taking care of the operational and energy efficiency of a building, we also support the local communities where we operate,” added Roberts. “For many years Trane in surrounding areas has supported Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs, and local food banks. We plan to contribute to the communities within Central and Southern Illinois in similar capacities.”
